Sara Reimold
I am passionate about informing and supporting mothers and their families during pregnancy and labor. I value traditions from various cultures on birth, as well as what current research shows us is safest and healthiest care for mothers and their babies. I feel strongly that women are generally capable of giving birth without interventions, especially if they are well-supported by their family and care providers, and that even if issues do arise, a wonderful birth is still possible as long as the parents are able to make informed decisions in their care.
More importantly, I feel that my role as a doula is not to tell you what to do, but to help you know your options so that you can advocate for the best care that you feel is necessary, whether you choose to birth at home, at the local birth center, or in a hospital.
I have birthed two children, one at the hospital and one at home, and I've been able to support many different types of births, from VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean), home birth, and low and high-risk pregnancies. I am always learning, and I would love to help you in your pregnancy and birth.
Please feel free to read my blog Charlottesville Doula Musings at www.beyondbirthsupport.com for thoughts on prenatal nutrition, solutions to pregnancy discomforts, and information on labor support and interventions.
