Debbie Wong, CPM
I started attending births as a doula in 2004. This was part of my early training to become a Certified Professional Midwife. Since that time, I have attended over a 140 births, both in and out of the hospital. While witnessing these beginnings, I’ve learned many amazing things about women. Women have an innate biological ability to give birth. Their bodies are perfectly designed to grow, nurture, birth and care for babies. Women are extremely powerful, and when she is faced with great challenges, she can tap into a deep reserve and do incredible things (sometimes to her own surprise!) When you surround a woman with love and support from people she trusts, she becomes unstoppable. My role as your doula is to provide you with care so you may feel empowered birthing your baby and confident transitioning to motherhood.
Birth is a highly individualized process. Due to each birth being unique, it is difficult to predict prior to labor what a mother will need. During my career I have assisted first time mothers and seasoned birthers. I have supported mothers wanting a VBAC and those whose babies choose a breech position. I will work with you and your partner as individuals so that I may provide personalized care during your birth. I bring to each birth the utmost confidence and compassion in walking along side you during your journey to welcoming her baby.
